When
should my child first see a dentist?
Ideally, your child should see a dentist no longer than six months
after his or her first teeth erupt. The doctor will be able to examine
the development of your child's mouth, and because dental problems
often start early, the sooner the visit, the better. To safeguard
against problems such as baby bottle tooth decay, teething irritations,
gum disease, and prolonged thumb-sucking, Dr. Greenberg can provide
or recommend special preventive care. |

an affordable, quick and painless way to repair many cosmetic flaws
or injuries. |

Prevent
tooth decay
Having a clean mouth is important. When you eat, residue remains in
your mouth, feeding bacteria that grow in a sticky film on your teeth.
This film, called plaque, is the main cause of tooth decay and gum
disease. Regular brushing, flossing and regular preventative checkups
and cleaning contribute to lifelong dental health. |

Denture
problems
Due to the natural aging process after the loss of teeth, gums will
shrink, causing problems with fit. For the average patient, this translates
to needing a refit about every 2 to 4 years. |

Missing
teeth and dental implants
A dental implant is the replacement of a missing tooth with a false
root that is surgically placed, with a constructed crown. This prevents
the shifting of other teeth to prevent additional tooth loss. Implants
feel like your natural teeth because implants are bridges that are
permanently anchored to your jaw. |

Replacing
unsightly silver fillings

up the accummulated amounts of decay hidden under the fillings, and
give you the psychological benefit of having natural looking teeth

Porcelain
Veneers
A conservative, non-aggressive way to rejuvenate your smile, working
well for tooth reshaping and resizing. Retaining a natural appearance,
very little natural tooth structure is removed. This makes it perfect
for those who need just a little bit beyond whitening. |

Dental
Emergencies
Injuries to the mouth include teeth that are knocked out, forced out
of position or broken. Oral injuries are often painful, and should
be treated by a dentist as soon as possible. |

Dealing
with Bad Breath (Halitosis)
Treatment begins with a complete oral examination and health history.
Periodontal disease and /or cavities should be treated and repaired.
Oral infections must be eliminated or impacted teeth may need to be
removed. Good oral hygiene must be stressed, including cleaning the
teeth and tongue. Once the oral infection is treated and cured, mouthrinses
and toothpastes may have some effectiveness in managing oral odor. |
